4689 - Instagram Karma

Last day at work before going to Milan
And I facilitated at table
In a conference in Liverpool and ran
The high-level and high-grade crucible
Of potentially uncontrollable
Know-alls, but it went well and I received
Good feedback, and it was enjoyable
Tired on the way home on the train, but waived
Having a nap then or at home. Not peeved
Though, cos I instead did preparation
For the trip, started to pack, was able
To book a taxi to the airport, shaved
My hair again, posted on Instagram
And Twitter, so busy, incredible!

4688 - The world of Boris

Boris, his real name is Alexander
His weird eyes transcend all our politics
Jeremy Hunt is the new pretender
But can he prevail over Boris' shtick?
Can anyone? But Brexit is a stick
With which to beat opponents with, and those
Who say nay are on shaky ground, they lick
Arses of status quo, fear change, propose
That leaving is racist, they see as foes
Their opponents, who want to preserve their
View of the world. And so let's not start sects
Let's put the world first, not be fooled by ghosts
Of political throwbacks, yesteryear
Ideals, let's try to be more pragmatic

4687 - Weekends, friends, and things to mend

Felt fairly spaced out in my mind today
Probably mainly my exhausting weekend
I forgot the Landfill Tax meeting - say,
What a fool I made myself seem! Defend
That one, if you can, Tony, my friend!
Helen could have been there, potentially
But I knew she was home, wouldn't attend
Messaged her, see her after Italy
Posted a few things, and reasonably
Good responses. Tonight, as well as play
The uke, went on social media again
I need to make it a habit for me
But now I need to sleep, then make my way
Earlier to the office, fences to mend!

4686 - Dawn and Louise

Bed after the dawn of summer morning
A few hours of repair with no TV
Then crept up soon my hour of departing
For afternoon delight of comedy
And met with the help of Uber Taxi
At The Frog, queuing, waiting and shaking
They let us in the eventuality
In the end, she was already making
Her art start, I thought she was dee-jaying
And was a young girl, and was just warming
Up the room, then Louise's comedy
Could come, make our earthquake so rib-shaking
But no, Louise and her dog performing
Already, I wasn't ready, steady...

4685 - The Fleeting Scotsman

Slept well in the circumstances, alarm
Woke me from deep repair prematurely
3:45, but summer daylight warmed
The heart. Even this June beats January
Just catch that bus to Scotland, leaves promptly
3:45 it goes the motor way
To Edinburgh, mother north city
I caught 40 winks somewhere round Tebay
Caught the best hills on wheels of 2 storey
On arrival, not yet in the mood, torn
Between fact-checking and Bony Tony
Photo opps, opposing forces at play
Uploaded in Starbucks, recharge til warm
Then a late bus down to English country...

4684 - Dreadin' Edinburgh (or getting up early)

Got more beer in, but feeling so weary
That's good, cos tomorrow's an early start
3:45 to be precise (f*ck me!)
So I must begin drinking if I'm smart
It's already 8pm, and I'm sort
Of drinking, but not with the appetite
Of yesterday, when it seemed like an art
I'll knock more back soon, but first I must write
This sonnet, or when Sunday comes I might
Have four or five, backlog of literary
Outpourings to compose, trying to depart
From the mere present in a mental fight
To recall distant events, albeit they
Were just a few days old. Still find it hard!

4683 - Breakout

After work, went round V's hoping that she
Would help sort out my social media
That was useful, for Instagram mainly
But also Facebook, and so thanks to her
Walked homeward through the streets of Manchester
And had a great message conversation
With Helen, bust-up now clearly over
So happy about that. She is like one
Of my family, hope we can overcome
That setback and grow closer, hopefully
Like I imagined it going back a year
I was on the beer, a celebration
Of all I'd achieved this week, pluckily
After a bad weekend and work pressure

4682 - Yellow fellow

Curtailed last night's fun, shared a taxi, had
To go to bed before it got too late
And I knew a busy day lay ahead
Woke up early, and before long I made
The office, and not only that, I stayed
Later than I intended, one-to one
Lasted two hours, so appointment delayed
For tonight's videoing, changed to 7
From 6. Walked home and became yellow man
Or yellow Bony Tony, yellow head
And yellow shirt to match. My tired state
Meant I didn't come up with much great fun
But any pictures that look slightly good
I'm grateful for and will appreciate

4681 - Game for a laugh

Was really looking forward to tonight
But first I had a day's work to get through
It was OK, a few laughs, feeling quite
Settled now, work-wise, didn't have a clue
For some time, but now, I know what to do
More often than not, and that's good to feel
Walked home, shaved off some hair, then walked up to
Grosvenor Street, waited for J, a real
Worry on my part we'd be late, but still
Like last time it was a long wait. Then right
In front of us, Toby Hadoke, a few
Laughs from him, then Glenn Moore, learned words that reeled
From his lips for an hour. Preview delight
Followed from Jordan Brookes, loved by us two

4680 - Toy Glory

Too tired to exercise but posted stuff
At work today so maybe I can rest
Easy tonight, preparing for a puff
Tomorrow with J and her friend, two guests
Of mine at the Fringe previews at XS
Should be good. Seems OK on Twitter, some
Results there. Instagram less so. Success
At first, but tailing off slightly. Liam's done
My Chariots of Fire film but it's too long
I'm waiting for it on What's App. I huff
And puff in slow motion as I run past
My three toy supporters cheering me on
Then Wednesday more filming, probably with glove
Puppets, Punch and Judy getting real vexed!

4679 - Theatre of schemes

I must admit I've not done half the things
I meant to today, what a lazy lad
But it's still been okay considering
Helen's still a friend though I behaved bad
It's rare for folk to forgive when they've had
A walk-out in a restaurant on a night
Out! That's earned her serious points on the board
Also confirmed I've helpers going right
Through the Fringe, same venue, which will be quite
A saving, won't have to hire sound, lighting
Or front of house people, which makes me glad
I've got enough costs already. I might
Stand some chance of breaking even. Making
A profit's unlikely, I accept that

4678 - Food of love

And so today, went out with Josephine
On Father's Day, although she was tired
After her GSCEs finishing
And a party that finished late last night
We had a good meal, not long to go, quite
Soon we'll be in Italy, and we'll meet
Up with Pearl, who'll tell us, maybe excite
Us with news of her new job, and we'll eat
Some high quality food, some sunny street
We'll briefly live as though the world's not mean
Through bonds unbroken, love that can't expire
I'm so lucky to have these, it's a treat
Family is permanent, not demeaned
By fall outs, it endures and is hard-wired

4677 - Don't Look Back In Anger

What are friends for, and are they electric?
These are the questions I must face today
Helen is one who I thought fantastic
But she has let me down, it's not OK
She thinks it's just what she wants, but I say
It's what we both want, find a middle ground
If I'm just one minor part player, hey
That's not for me, that's not really allowed
I think more of myself than that, I'm sound
I thought I'd proved that, but can't make that stick
In her mind, she's got bigger things, will stay
As she is, that's fine, but it's turned around
Now I'll go on without her weak-willed schtick
A bloody shame that it's turned out that way

4676 - A question of time

It's ten at night, and I have yet to stop
It's one of those days energy is high
I'll have to stay up later, I won't drop
Off for some time yet, so best not to try
Suppose I'll watch Question Time with a sly
Smile at the jibes towards the wannabe
Tory leaders unable to pass by
The intransigence of the House of P
And also of the EU. They can't be
Reconciled anytime soon. They're a flop
Once they've got the top job. They may feel 'I
Have made it to the top' but misery
Awaits them there, the hollow crown atop
Their assaulted mind, made the last one cry

4675 - He's Mochadile, he's from the Nile

Woke up too soon and now I'm really spent
Early night surely looms, unless I can
Get some shut-eye shortly. Managed to spend
Some time uploading more videos from phone
To YouTube. So now all 40 of them
Are safely stored on Dropbox and also
On YouTube. 40 Mochadile videos
That is, there are more besides I could show
You if you look there, if you have the time
Too tired to think of any more comment
Just want to relax, throw cares in the can
Ten Tories in a race to be the Prime
Minister, the Houses of Parliament
Hearing the speeches of the ten who run

4674 - YouDude

A better day today, YouTube, well done!
Managed to upload well over 20
Videos, by re-editing every one
And ignoring the message sent to me
That the upload failed! Oh, technology!
Mind you, it's true, I'm finding that the way
Around this awkward eccentricity
That software has is just simply to play
With it, don't be afraid or lazy.stay
The course and figure it out, and you come
To discover yourself the remedy
That works for you on your device, and hey!
Away you go! Regained my momentum
Lots uploaded, people are liking me...!!

4673 - YouPube

It's such a pain, this phone technology
It should be easy but it keeps going wrong
Failed uploads to YouTube, spending all day
Sending videos to Dropbox, takes so long
The wi-fi in my flat's so slow, I hang
Around, waiting, unable to do much
The whole damn business is so frustrating
After work, went to town to try to flush
Out the problem, talk to experts, and push
Forward. The O2 Shop girl advised me
It was useful but also depressing
She said my file types were not the ones which
YouTube could take. The Apple Shop man, he
Was more optimistic. We'll see, shortly...

4672 - Oh please, O2

Semi-successful day, but frustrating
As endless time to upload in this flat
Is spent, and also my phone settings
Aren't right. I need advice from an expert
Might try the O2 Shop tomorrow night
After work, when I also should collect
My dry cleaning, including the jacket
I fell over in, on my wedding trek
To Dulwich station. Oh my, flipping heck
So much to do tomorrow, phone meeting
And a face-to-face one with Lisa, but
It's the only one we'll have, Sian has clicked
In her interview and is beginning
As my new boss with immediate effect

4671 - Get Up, I Feel Like Being A Sketch Machine

I'm more knackered than usual, Saturday
Afternoon, 5:30, woke up early
Behaved last night, no drinks, got up today
At 9, but having woke at 6:50
That's really rare at the weekend for me
Perhaps it's a life change, male menopause!
In my defence, met Jamal on rainy
Deansgate, at the Beetham Tower, for us
To do some new photos and short videos
For Instagram and Twitter. Must display
More Bony Tony material, with the
All-important link to YouTube, followers
Wanted. That's becoming my forward way
More than any live show, my strategy

4670 - Viva Vivaldi

A bit dehydrated after some beers
Last night. Took it a bit easier today
At work - well it's Friday, ain't it, me dears?
Checked in our flights to Milan. Slight worry
About the Vivaldi tickets. So they
Were on my phone after all, no tickets
As such, just an ID number. Conveyed
This info to Helen, agreed that drinks
Would follow the orchestral gig. Hope it's
Not another let-down. Shouldn't be. Here's
Something SHE wants to do, it's not for me...
At least this evening I managed to fix
A couple of Fringe things. Tomorrow there's
Filming with Jamal - is it work or play?

4669 - Same old song

Mainly sunny, before some days of rain
When will the promised heatwave start? Don't care
Really, last year was hot, almost insane
And I've sunbathed in Morocco this year
With someone nice but not enough, I fear
Played uke three days in a row now, so good
Still can't sing at the same time though, can't bear
To practice singing at home, rather blood
Shot out from my eyes than my neighbourhood
Hear me singing in my flat! Was a strain
Just playing guitar, hating them to hear
At least I'm better now, less shy about
That. Same with social media. Try in vain
I still hate it, but must not be so scared

4668 - Ed Cringe

Last night watched 63 Up, and tonight
The second part starts in a few minutes
So I'd better get this typed, and then right
Away start my (late) tea, Got chicken - it's
Reduced (reached sell-by date) so mustn't miss
A day, or I'll have to throw it away
Tried to phone EdFringe, but there's such a blitz
Of callers and emailers now, the day
Of the launch. Emailed them to ask if they
Can add my social media links. They're slight
In content at the moment, but good hits
Considering that. They should grow if I stay
Busy posting, though it's a mental fight
It's all about momentum, or it slips...

4667 - Slimline sonic

A hard but rewarding work day and then
Great news - home exercise done first time for
About two weeks. I was on the mat when
Chan came in the room! Luckily I wore
Shorts and a vest - she didn't see me bare!
My tummy was beginning to stick out
My dream is to have abs beyond compare
But I'll settle for fairly slim, not stout!
Ate chicken, its price reduced, cos no doubt
I need to save where I can, cos I'll spend
On my show, and the Milan trip is near
Then a blast on the uke, Buzzcocks freak-out
Plus some classic punk, fast, furious and raw
Must have been exciting for all to hear!

4666 - Tramendous

A quiet day at work, but I got things done
Even dropped off clothes at the dry cleaning
Having clean clothes on will be kinda fun
It's good to limit unpleasant stinking!
I included the jacket I was lying
On the pavement in, London, Friday night
After work, rushed home for some quick eating
Before going out filming in my white
Bony Tony t-shirt. Blessed with sunlight
I filmed a funny scene that saw me run
Slowly up the ramp desperately trying
To catch a tram. It's time lapse, should be quite
Funny when sped up. Castlefield Bowl, some
Chariots of Fire running, and geese walking

4665 - Match of yesterday

Yesterday evening all that I could do
Was listen to the big match on radio
While half-asleep on the sofa, trying to
Recover from Friday's misbehaviour
Pleased Liverpool beat Spurs because they are
The better team and almost won the League
Losing to City by one point - unfair
For them to finish with naught. Now, a big
Trophy is theirs once more. Nine this morning
Soon after I'd got up, Chan walked in through
The door, now she's resting. Planned to video
In a big coloured tent thing that was rigged
Up at Salford Media City, but too
Late, chance gone. But I'm filming tomorrow...

4664 - Euston, we have a problem

The early hours of Saturday were spent
Getting the train to Euston rail station
Too late for the Manchester train. I went
Down on the London pavement too often
And we missed our northern-bound connection
Lay on Euston floor cradling a coffee
Then dozed upon the train to Northampton
Which was the final stop, quarter to three
Or thereabouts, stuck there til finally
Trains started running from there again
Round 5:45, when we jumped upon
The Stafford train, changed for Piccadilly
Went to bed about 8:30 intent
On a short rest, easing my exhaustion

4663 - Foolish in Dulwich

Yesterday, David's wedding in London
Married to Emily, town of Dulwich
The location in Christ's Chapel, then on
To the military school, Dulwich College
So much free wine, got drunk, over the edge
After a brief stint on the dance floor which
Was to the sound of a live band, we fetched
Our bags and headed off. Where was the ditch
I fell in? I don't remember that much
From the time we left til Euston was reached
Fortunately Vee took snaps of me on
The pavement laughing away like a son
Vee tried to pull me up but couldn't budge
Me off the pavement. Missed our train. Sausage!
