Today - what a total, what a disgrace
This country seemed to do everything last
With u-turns aplenty. Yet to save face
The leaders duck and dive, they just debase
Their status, frequently uncomfortable
In facing questions, squirming in their place
They say everything was done possible
They maintain that they’re so respectable
They assert, sympathise with the huge cast
List of victims, including those outpaced
In the NHS by cases, wards full
Staff tired or absent, upset or depressed
And so it’s now a vaccinations race
