4658 - Bullocks to Brexit

Shaved and cut my hair, did a good job too
Watched Andrew Marr Show politics circus
Brexit Brexit Brexit wall to wall stew
And now it's Euro election results
The Brexit Party forecast to exult
And Lib Dems the beneficiaries of the
Status quo. Tory voters in revolt
Likewise many traditional Labour
Voters, feeling that Labour has dithered
And sat on the fence, unclear what to do
Support Remain or Leave, when their voters
Are themselves in both camps. And I've made more
Progress on my social media sites. Phew -
It was hard work, but Vee helped that progress

4589 - Good day at the box office

What an incredibly long and hard day
And I feel tired now and not at my best
Think I'm fighting something off. But today
I worked at full capacity and smashed
My way through the online manager's test
Setting it all up, now at last it's done
My managerial duties all published
My comments, appraisals, what said and when
And my comments on my performance on
The system in time for my 'chat' Thursday.
Ordered nine t-shirts at T-Shirt Express
Nine colours, each with my logo upon
Them. How good is that? They'll match my hair. They
Along with the music, must impress!

4430 - Drinking wine spody o Spree

Couldn't resist a bottle of red wine
Too excited to not self-medicate
Need some horse tranquillisers by the tonne
Hairdresser appointment to trim my pate
New silver suitcase partly packed, it waits
By my side, five days break, easy to pack
Promotion got, holiday, celebrate
It feels good now and I don't give a fuck
Listening to Alex Harvey, art prog rock
New tracks to learn, all part of this good time
All good things they all come to those who wait
Stayed happy and busy e'en when it sucked
Wish it was sunny, could swim in the brine
Berlin has no sea, but the Spree is great!

3894 - Tue 18 April 17

Pub quiz tonight at the Railway Inn in
West Didsbury, a short tram ride away
Recent quizzes haven't seen much winning
Could  be my last night before I'm away
To Israel, and tomorrow's my last day
In the office. Today took  the long walk
To the barber's, haircut for holiday
Sunny but chilly, coat zipped as I stalked
Along, my uncut hair like a big cork
Sticking out too far, but, when returning
From the barber's, neater-looking, OK
But more boring than hoped for. Maybe chalk
Colours can liven it up, videoing
On my mind. Looking cool, necessity

3626 - Sun and hair

It's hot in here, these short-lived summer nights
At four o'clock, hastened to Spinningfields
To 'Mr' hairdressers to have highlights
I had backtracked from full hair dye, for squeals
Of horror from my daughter, Jo - appeals
That wrenched my heart, and in the morning when
I awoke, I repented of my feels
And agreed to downgrade - no blond locks. Then
Once sat in the black chair, a discussion
With Lisa changed my mind. My hair's too white
To have grey or white highlights, too concealed
And barely worth it they'd be, and so on
With the blond dye. We both waited for quite
A while, then washed it off, which then revealed...
