5081 - Mum is 88

My Mum’s birthday- she is now 88
Still very bright and with it for her age
Some old-fashioned views, but articulate
Got fish and chips, the pain was an outrage
So full, but too tasty to leave. Sausage
Roll later, too, and crisps. We had some fun
Hearing her views. We’re not on the same page
The time for her views, well, it has long gone
But then she’s an 88-year-old mum
She liked the cactus vase. Three vases sat
By the garden window. I rearranged
The flowers, putting roses in my one
And sunflowers in the others where they’d fit
Dropped Jo at her boyfriend’s, Alderley Edge
