I took the day off work to watch the game
England v Wales at Vee's flat, mainly tense
But at the end there was a good outcome
A 2-1 win, enough to send us hence
Into the next round, and if we get points
Against Slovakia, top of the group, too
The sky grew grey as I left. Rain anoints
Me as I reach Sainsburys, but my new
Coat protects me well. Safely back home, you
Wouldn't believe the downpour that then came
The rain got even worse, turned to hailstones
There's nothing as comforting as the view
From inside of inclement weather. Come
Now, time to read a new book called 'Sapiens'
