Did what I could, Brexit-wise, left at four
To meet Helen on Bridge Street, then adjourned
To the Deansgate Pub, then Cask, for a beer
Or two, before seeing Joker, a film of spurned
Manhood, great performance in which we learned
Once more that ignoring or mistreating
Men won't end well, a message that's being burned
Into the consciousness, undermining
The propaganda that's overwhelming
That what men do is their own fault, and fear
And rejection they feel means they should burn
In hell. Who do we turn to? Who's listening?
Men have emotions, ignore them at your
Peril, we're still here. Watched it with Helen
